This jacket was made by the State of North Carolina primarily for the North Carolina Troops. These jackets did occasionally end up on soldiers from other states. This jacket was issued from 1862 until the end of the war. This jacket is made from Jean wool. The jacket body has a four-piece body with a one-piece sleeve. The outside topstitching is sewn entirely by hand around the cuffs and jacket edge. It has six hand-sewn buttonholes. The jacket lining is made from cotton Osnaburg and has a slash pocket that is set in by hand. You will be proud to wear this N.C. Depot Jacket in any unit.

The Richmond jackets have a 9 hand sewn buttonhole front the topstitching and buttonholes are done by hand. The jacket has a six-piece body. The Type II has epaulets and belt loops. The epaulets and belt loops do not have functional buttonholes as per the originals. The Richmond Depot jacket would be great for an 1862-1865 impression for the Army of Northern Virginia.
